About us
Impact is the volunteer Programme of Viva
Viva Denmark has been running Impact for over 20 years, sending out teams of Danish volunteers to Viva partner networks around the world. Now Viva UK is officially joining the volunteer programme to give UK volunteers the chance to join the team travelling to the Philippines.
The driving force behind the programme is teaching and learning. Volunteers will attend an Impact Academy, which will input teaching and reflection throughout the placement – both in the UK and in host country. Our vision is to see engaged and excited young people applying to the programme to learn. To learn about overseas development, about best practice when working with vulnerable children and young people, about how NGOs operate, and about what it means to be a global citizen.
The opportunities we are able to offer however will vary hugely, in length of stay as well as projects to get stuck into. We recommend prospective volunteers are able to commit to a minimum of 3 months with the project in order to have enough time to more fully understand the cultural context; and there is the opportunity to be a part of a wide range of activities and experiences depending on skill set and interests.
